Hilsa cooked in sharp mustard gravy—Bengali delicacy. (सरसों इलिश)
A protein-rich twist on classic poha - soft flattened rice cooked with tender chicken, onions, and spices for a wholesome and filling meal. (चिकन की ग्रेवी और पोहा का स्वादिष्ट कॉम्बिनेशन।)
Wash poha in a sieve, drain, and rest for 5 minutes until softened.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add chicken pieces, salt, turmeric, and chili powder. Cook until chicken is tender. Set aside.
In the same pan, add remaining oil. Temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies.
Add onions and sauté until golden, then stir in ginger-garlic paste.
Add garam masala and the cooked chicken. Mix well.
Gently add softened poha and salt. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
Finish with lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot.
